The sensational kissing episode of Korina Sanchez and Mar "Mr. Palengke" Roxas exploded on national television courtesy of her cohost Kris Aquino. Korina neither denied nor admitted it, but the naughty twinkle in her eyes more than affirmed it. Kris scoop, however came like a clifhanger in a telenovela. She whetted the viewers apetite and kept them wanting more of the same foddr.
Kris did to Korina for the second time in Morning Girls shortly after the "tactless queen" revealed in the buzz. One of their guets, Lito Camo, Tin Pan Alleys hottest composer of novelty songs, proved equal to task when he wrote a song impromptu----titled Mr. Palengke---and sang it acoustic for Korina. The haunting song went: "huwag nanghulihin pa/ Ang iyong nadarama/ kitang kita sa inyong mga mata/ in love kayo sa isat isa/ Mr. Palengke 2x I love you daw sabi ni Korina"
That did it! The song, which seems to have captured the repressed longings of the romantic duo, pricked the seasoned TV/radio host while Kris was thrilled no end, gamely sucking up to break down the defenses of her good friend in the name of love.
Alas, Korina's heart caved in. She asked the composer if she could buy the rights to the song, and when it was given to her gratis et amore, she managed to say: "Ibibigay ko to sakanya" ( in reference to suave senatorial candidate of course ) slightly concealing an emotion about to overpower her even as she was turning beet red in face.
Kris and thye enamored audience never had it so rousing, rooting for the two consenting adults to jump into the loveboat prontol.
