APOLOGY OF OVATION PRODUCTIONS TO MS. KORINA SANCHEZ

I am writing this with regards an alleged incident at the Tears for Fears concert last Sunday and to clarify certain inaccuracies in reports, tweets, and exchanges we have come to know about.

First, we would like to thank everyone who watched the concert, which was a huge, huge success. It is unfortunate that, present in the audience was Ms. Korina Sanchez, who became a victim of something unintentional while the concert was ongoing. While Ms. Sanchez and her companions were dancing and doing the Laban political sign to each other for sheer fun, our production crew cameraman focused on Ms. Sanchez without her knowledge. Also unknown to her, she was being shown live on the big screens. Reports say there was “booing” from the crowd. I was at the soundboard area behind the patron section and I did not personally hear the booing myself. I must’ve been preoccupied with other concerns and the alleged booing was not loud enough to have distracted me. I would like to apologize to Ms. Korina Sanchez if our cameraman inadvertently focused on her. We would like to clarify that neither Ms. Sanchez nor anyone in her company made arrangements with us that they be given publicity mileage for political purposes during the Tears For Fears concert. I can imagine that flashing the ‘Laban’ sign has become second nature to her after having been actively campaigning daily for months.

We hope this clarifies matters and, again, we apologize to Ms. Sanchez for whatever inconvenience this misunderstanding may have caused her.

Thank you.
